FORUMS

Instrument forums allow instrumental maestros, who are outstanding

in their field, to showcase that expertise in special concerts. This

year we are showcasing guitar and fiddle - see page 8 for further

information.

Explore a range of issues in our discussion forums - Ideas from the

Edge - Saturday and Sunday - details on page 11.

YOUTH STAGE - THE CROSSING

What blistering talent we have among our young performers. There’s

a growing list of people who got some of their first serious gigs at The

Crossing and went on to greater things. Find out more about this

special venue on pages 12 and 13.

SESSIONS

A wonderful feature of a folk festival is the impromptu

sessions that sprout wherever musicians and singers gather.

The most popular sessions are usually around the Festival Bar area

(but they can break out anywhere!). And of course there are the very

popular singing sessions - join the programmed session on Saturday

night - join in a chorus or lead a song - you’ll be glad that you did!

MARKET & FOOD STALLS

Three coffee vans and a range of healthy food options from snacks

to meals (sweet to savoury) will help to keep you fuelled up from

breakfast until late - available all weekend.

You will find a wonderful range of fresh food and local produce, local

craft and exotic goods at our street markets!

The Cobargo Folk Festival loves dancers. Our dance program is

presented by Fran Robertson, whose shimmy has to be seen to be

believed. Dance offers everyone an opportunity to meet new people,

improve coordination and fitness, develop confidence and challenge the

grey matter!

Fran has put together a diverse program of dance performances,

workshops and participatory dances held at the Brolga venue. The

dance workshops are a great way to a learn the techniques, history and

culture behind a variety of dance styles - try a few moves then step

out at the evening dances.

No experience is necessary

and the dance

program is open to all ages!

We are sure you will find something of interest whether you are a

complete beginner or seasoned dancer.
